Equipment that requires ionizing radiation shielding includes X-ray machines, CT scanners, fluoroscopy machines, PET scanners, mammography machines, and radiation therapy machines.
Poly-Tungsten is a unique compound made of polymer and tungsten with a density range of 3-13 gr/cm3. Tungsten Heavy Alloys provide higher densities ranging between 17.0 gr/cm3 and 18.7 gr/cm3. These compounds are non-toxic and ROHS compliant. Materials from the Tungsten family group are suitable alternatives to lead in radiation shielding and other applications.
